Hello my lurvly readers! It's been a gloomy week so far with rain rain rain. NJ weather really is unpredictable, the temperature dropped again and I'm back to wearing my light winter coats in May... :( So in honour of mother's day I've decided to share about how I survived my morning sickness- instead of boring you with coat outfits.

Honestly I never expected I'll have morning sickness since my mum or grandmas did not suffer from it, and people say you tend to take after your mum. Well... apparently not my case :( I blame it on the fact that today's women need to work and can't sleep until their heart's desire. Anyways, everyone is different and these are the little things that worked for me. Give it a try if you're currently suffering from morning sickness. I wish I knew more about it before hand instead of panicking and feeling helpless.

1. Keep some saltine crackers by your bed and in your bag. Don't ever feel hungry, it makes you more sick.

2. Vitamin B6 helped me if I take it in the morning, sometimes your prenatal vitamins makes your sick, try to take them at night instead.

3. & 7.  I find ginger ale really help me in the morning, because it makes me burp and feel less sick. I mixed it with seltzer water to cut down the sugar.

4.Sea band mama is a accupressure band that you wear around your wrist. It's a life saver for my long commute.

5. Chips somehow kept my food down, maybe it's the saltiness, but always nibbling on snacks definitely helped.

6. Lemon essential oil is also a life saver during my long commute. Your nose get super sensitive while you're pregnant, you smell literally everything. Bad smell ticks you off and trigger you to throw up.

8. I crave oranges and anything sour, somehow citrus calms my tummy down.

I also find getting enough sleep is the key, I'm usually out by 9 or 9.30pm during my 1st trimester, if I get a good night sleep my day is easier. Body pillow also helps a lot for a good night's sleep. You need to elevate your body more to avoid heartburn- it also helps you breath easier.

My morning sickness started at week 6, the symptoms peak around week 9, then magically it all went away at week 13- which is very typical. It's also a good idea to take a week off work during your week 9 and just chill at home, since you might not want to tell your employers so early on.

So this is it, here are my tips on how I survived my morning sickness. Remember everyone is unique and these might not work for you. Try a variety of food that helps and stick to it. Just stay positive and know that you are experiencing these symptoms because your body is changing to accommodate your little miracle!

Have a great weekend beautiful people! and thanks for reading this somewhat long post!

Bisous xx

  2. For me, when I get morning sickness due to rain or something, I just take a long nap and sleep through the morning. I didn't know citrus calms your stomach! Usually it makes stomach aches worse...
